FIELD: microwave engineering. SUBSTANCE: absorber is made in the form of plate of known thickness. It is kept in heating chamber under the action of microwave radiation for some definite time required for changing the plate thickness. Then plate thickness is measured in sections to be compared, and microwave radiation distribution intensity is determined by expression P1/P2 = λ1d2(1-d0/d1)/λ2d1(1-d0/d2) ,, where P1, P2 are power losses of plate material in sections to be compared; d0 is plate thickness before exposure to radiation; d1,d2 are plate thickness values in selected sections being compared after exposure to radiation; λ1,λ2 are known thermal diffusivity values of plate material determined for different values of plate thickness. EFFECT: more accurate determination of microwave power distribution intensity. 1 dwg
