FIELD: chemical industry, metallurgy, civil engineering and other industries; devices to regulate flows of liquids and gases in transportation systems. SUBSTANCE: shutoff device has housing with through channel, drive and group of shaped members overlapping the through channel mechanically coupled with drive. Shaped members are installed for synchronous turning in one plane, square to axis of through channel, around corresponding axles. Outline of each member overlapping the through channel has first and second convex arc-shaped sections with center of curvature coinciding with axis of rotation of corresponding member, concave arc-shaped section intersecting at one side with first convex arc-shaped section at angle and mating at other side with second convex arc-shaped section, and also closing section. Second group of overlapping members is installed additionally in housing. Second group is identical to first group and is connected kinematically with drive. Members of first and second groups overlapping through channel are spring loaded axially relative to housing and relative to each other. Projections of axes of their rotation onto plane perpendicular to axis of through channel are displaced in angular direction relative to each other.
