FIELD: regulation of flows in systems of transportation of liquids and gases by pipe lines; metallurgy, chemical, construction and other industries. SUBSTANCE: gate valve has hollow body with inlet and outlet passages. Arranged inside body is slider-crank mechanism. Its slider is mounted for closing the straightway passage of body by its shut-off member flexibly pressed to bearing surface of body and engageable with inner surface of straightway passage of body. Shut-off member of slider is made in form of shut-off insert received by hole provided in this part of slider. Insert is made in form of sleeve. Wall of this sleeve is provided with corrugation- forming grooves. Bottom of sleeve is located on side of outlet passage of body and is pressed to bearing surface of body due to elastic deformation of part of its wall in area of corrugation-forming grooves.
