DEVICE FOR REGULATION OF VENTURI TUBE FLOW AREA OF CONVERTER-GAS WET SCRUBBERS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: steel melting; applicable in wet scrubbing of converter gases of oxygen-converter plants of metallurgical works. SUBSTANCE: the offered device includes Venturi tube rectangular in cross-section and with regulated size of its throat, regulating device and drive for motion of regulating device. The latter is made in form of complicated combined pantograph including, at least, two pantographs with common adjacent link whose extreme opposite links are rigidly connected to body of gas vent. Movable links of pantograph accommodated in throat of Venturi tube serve additionally as load-carrying supports with cover material secured thereto. Common intermediate link of pantograph is provided with tie-rod connected with drive moving regulating device. Small pantograph is hinged to lower surface of solid connector between adjacent gas vents. It is preferably to have axes of hinges of upper and lower pantographs mutually perpendicular. It is also preferably to make extreme lower link of large pantograph hollow and hinged to tube body. Internal space of combined pantograph is isolated from tube internal space by means of isolating partitions secured to its all surfaces. Isolating partitions may be made rigid, soft or combined. EFFECT: higher reliability of device design, simplified means for variation of flow area of Venturi tube. 9 cl, 2 dwg
