METHOD FOR ADJUSTMENT OF PROCESS AXIS OF METAL CONTINUOUS CASTING PLANT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, operation of plants of metal continuous casting. SUBSTANCE: method includes determination of position of supporting members in the form of bars and/or rollers in zone of secondary cooling grouped into sections and installed on supporting frames over their length. Prior to molten metal pouring from next ladle, subject to determination and fixing is position of sections relative to supporting frames over their length. Then, a series of teemings of 1-4 ladles is accomplished and during which displacement of frames over their length in space is measured, and measurement results are noted, and upon completion of teeming of molten metal from a series of ladle, maximum displacement is determined of local sections of supporting frames over their length in points of attachment of each section to then relative to initial position, and then displacement is carried out of each section relative to their supporting frames through a value equalling maximum displacement of supporting frames in the process of teeming from a series of ladles in direction opposite to displacement obtained in measurement, and they are secured in this position to supporting frames, and teeming from next ladle is started. EFFECT: higher quality and yield of continuously cast ingots due to keeping the plant production process axis in the required position in process of metal continuous casting.
