FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: metal is poured by series from successively supplied casting ladles to plant of continuous casting. Then metal is transferred to intermediate ladle and to molds. Castings are pulled from molds at variable rate. Castings are supported and directed under mold with the help of driven and idle rollers grouped in roller sections on frames. Castings and process equipment are cooled with coolant sprayed by nozzles grouped in nozzle sections. Consumption of coolant, adjustment of position of process axis and plant rollers are controlled. After completion of pouring from last ladle in a series, casting pulling rate is decreased to 0.2-0.95 of its working value and withdrawn from plant for time (1.1-3.0)τ. Coolant consumption is reduced to 0.3-0.9 of its working value. After withdrawal of castings from plant, cooling of plant process equipment is discontinued. In this case, positions of process axis and rollers of plant are adjusted upon completion of coolant supply in (0.1-4.0)τ n, where τ is time of full solidification of casing, min; n is number of casting ladles in previous series. EFFECT: increased accuracy of adjustment of process axis and rollers of plant and quality of castings. 1 tbl, 1 ex
