FIELD: railway transport; brake rigging. SUBSTANCE: gear ratio is chosen from values of preset range depending on car tare weight. Then one through hole is made in one lever of brake rigging to install hinge joint or shaft on above-indicated lever at place corresponding to chosen gear ratio of railway car brake rigging. EFFECT: reduced labour input and increased reliability of determination of rational values of brake rigging gear ratios for freight railway cars equipped with composite brake shoes. 5 cl, 1 dwg
