FIELD: pipe-lines transporting hot gas. SUBSTANCE: proposed shut-off device has body 1 with sealing members 2 and 3 cooled by cooling agent and shut-off element 4 cooled by cooling agent and mounted in body for axial movement. All surfaces contacting heated gas except surfaces of sealing members 2 and 3 and sealing surfaces 6 and 7 of shut-off element 4 are provided with refractory coat. Shut-off device is fitted with additional heat-absorbing insulation 17 located on metal surface of body above refractory coat 15, 16.
