GATE VALVE FOR SHUTTING-OFF PIPE LINES OF LARGE DIAMETERS, MAINLY DISK-TYPE (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: pipe lines used for transportation of gases containing dust and contaminated fluids. SUBSTANCE: gate valve has sliding gate fitted in its body motion by means of drive in transversal direction relative to pipe line. Gate is made in form of spectacles with shut-off plate on side and tubular strip on other side. When gate is closed, chute-off plate is positioned in pipe line. When gate is open, tubular strip is positioned in pipe line. Body is provided with bearing rollers located in parallel with direction of motion of gate on opposite sides directed towards narrow side of gate. One narrow side of gate is provided with guide having polygonal, cylindrical or tubular profile. Bearing rollers fitted on this side are engageable with profile of guide and are mounted approximately in form of star relative to longitudinal axis of gate guide. Drive of gate is made in form of toothed rack or chain gearing. Chain is secured on side surface of gate and is thrown into engagement with chain wheel connected with drive shaft of drive mechanism. Chain wheel is mounted in separate housing tightly secured on gate body by means of flange. Housing of chain wheel is provided with hole fitted with seal for running of drive shaft connected with chain wheel. Sealing rings of tubular strip and/or shut-off plates of shut-off disk are secured on frame of gate by means of adjusting screws oriented radially and axially, respectively.
