FIELD: automatic control of technological process of production of dichloroethane in column reactors. SUBSTANCE: heat formed in reaction zone is abstracted due to evaporation of boiling dichloroethane and its vapors are withdrawn. The method also includes measurement of consumption of ethylene and its regulation in preset relation to chlorine consumption; measurement of level height of liquid returning dichloroethane in reactor; measurement of temperature of medium at the upper calculated level of reaction zone; measurement of the preset level located above reaction zone of absolute pressure of medium and its value is used for determination of corresponding maximum permissible boiling temperature of dichloroethane and it is compared with medium temperature measured at upper calculated level of reaction zone. When medium temperature measured at upper calculated level of reaction zone is larger or less than maximum permissible temperature of boiling dichloroethane, preset value of chlorine consumption is automatically reduced or increased up to moment when the values of these temperatures become equal to each other.
