FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the production of ferroalloys by the aluminothermic method. In the method, the initial vanadium-containing material is crushed, mixed with a carbonaceous reducing agent with a ratio of the sum of vanadium pentoxide and iron oxides to carbon 1:(0.04–0.08) contained in it, the mixture is agglomerated and subjected to heat treatment to obtain an agglomerated product, which is melted together with the rest of the charge materials, while the recovery period of smelting is carried out in two stages, 5–30 % of the total amount of vanadium pentoxide needed to produce a liquid intermediate is pro-melted, with a ratio of vanadium and iron in a mixture of 1:(0.23–2.60), and the remaining amount of vanadium pentoxide is at a ratio of 1:(0.10–0.22), with the proportion of vanadium pentoxide specified in the agglomerate form at the first stage being 0.10–0.20 of its total amount in the charge mixture and 0.30–0.90 – at the second stage.
EFFECT: invention increases vanadium extraction by 0,3–0,6 %, reduces consumption of aluminum by 20–30 %, refractories – by 10–14 %, increases productivity by 5–7 %, and improves quality of the alloy.
