LINE FOR MOLDING OF RAILROAD TIES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of railroad ties; may be used in manufacture of railroad ties with use of rotation compaction of concrete mix. SUBSTANCE: line includes section 2 of placement of concrete mix into multicavity mold and simultaneous compaction of concrete mix by means of rotary concrete placer 5. The line is provided with device for installation of expansion bolts into molded ties. The device is made in the form of one mobile manipulator 10 and a row of stationary manipulators 11 and 12. Multicavity mold 3 is moved from section of reinforcement tensioning to roller conveyor 7 and moved by conveyor up to limiting stop 8 and stops. Then, power cylinders of all stationary manipulators 11 and 12 simultaneously lift cross-pieces 15 and holders and diaphragms 17 secured to cross-pieces. Holders enter openings of bottom of mold 3. Mobile manipulator 10 is moved to left extreme position. Expansion bolts are moved by power cylinder rods from magazines and fitted on holders. Process of expansion bolt installation is combined with placement and compaction of concrete mix in mold 3 performed by rotary concrete placer 5, moved from left to right immediately after mobile manipulator.
