FIELD: internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: engine is adaptive to different fuels and varying loads. Engine consists of several modules operating independently. Number of modules may change depending on loading. Engine is equipped with main microprocessor whose inputs are connected with controller of control member and engine shaft revolution sensor; outputs of microprocessor are connected with module engaging-disengaging mechanism. Each module is provided with auxiliary microprocessor whose inputs are connected with outputs of main microprocessor, detonation sensors, sensors showing the positions of TDC and BDC; outputs of auxiliary microprocessor are connected with drive mechanism with reversible member and fuel metering devices of fuel delivery systems; reversible members are connected with lever swinging axles each of which is connected with articulation of link connecting rod; they are made for reciprocating motion. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency due to automatic control of compression ratio of displacement volume and number of operating cylinders. 4 cl, 9 dwg
