FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: working charge is delivered into engine cylinder and is compressed in cylinder. Hinge joint of articulated connecting rod is displaced. Connecting rod converts reciprocating motion of piston into rotary motion of crankshaft under action of rocking lever acting by one end onto articulated connecting rod hinge joint, and by other end, engaging with drive. Combustion of fuel in constant volume takes place in heat-insulated combustion chamber. Value of constant volume and compression ratio are adjusted, depending on kind of fuel used and load of engine, by changing position of piston top dead center. For this purpose hinge joint of articulated connecting rod is displaced from/to axis of cylinder at compression stroke. Stopping of piston in top dead center is provided by displacing hinge joint of articulated connecting rod to cylinder axis in process of fuel combustion. EFFECT: increased efficiency of fuel combustion process. 3 cl, 14 dwg
