FIELD: mechanical engineering; expansion machines.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention, double expansion of compressed working medium is carried out successively in two cylinders, second cylinder being larger in size. Initially compressed working medium is delivered through intake valve into first cylinder where initial expansion takes place. Working medium from first cylinder is delivered through bypass valve and bypass channel into second cylinder where subsequent expansion takes place. Amount and pressure of working medium delivered into first cylinder are regulated by changing lift of intake valve depending on action onto accelerator. Said action on accelerator provides adjustment of length of piston stroke of first cylinder. Length of piston stroke of second cylinder is controlled automatically depending on residual pressure of working medium discharged from first cylinder.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation of expansion machine.
