FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing liquid products by thermal cracking of oil residues mixed with 5- 40% of peat. The latter, prior to mixing, is disintegrated to particle size no higher than 1000 mcm, fraction below 200 mcm constituting 40-60%. Oil residue-peat mixture is subjected to one- two-fold dispersing and mechanical treatment. Resulting suspension is subjected to thermal cracking advantageously at 380 to 440 C and pressure 0.2 to 5.0 MPa. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency due to reduced amount of solid phase; reduced content of unsaturated hydrocarbon and phenols in motor fuels. 2 cl, 1 tbl
