FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: process involves preliminary mechanochemical treatment of sapropelite additive on vibrating mill in inert atmosphere at excessive pressure 0.05 atm and acceleration level 2-8 G to give particles 20-30 mcm in size, while fraction above 30 mcm is retained on vibrating screen and then returned into mill. Dosage, mixing, and homogenization of mixture components are accomplished continuously in vibromixer operated with vibration frequency 10-25 Hz and vibration amplitude 1-3 mm, continuous feed of components being performed through worm feeder at controlled feed rate. Resulting mixture is subjected to thermal cracking, preferably at 390-440 C and pressure 0.2-5.0 MPa, and cracking products are separated. According to invention, shale oil, sapromixite, rabdopissite, bokhed, and cannel are used as sapropelite, and vibrating mill and vibromixer utilized are of tore type filled with steel balls having different diameters from 20 to 40 mm. Use of these conditions makes more efficient thermal cracking and increases yield of light petroleum products by 3-6%.
