FIELD: hydroelectric power engineering. SUBSTANCE: power plant designed to convert river- water current energy into electrical energy has one or more electric generators driven by respective flexible shafts each carrying anchor on its end as well as bladed water propellers mounted on each flexible shaft, pulley block connected to anchor, bottom cable whose ends are secured on river-side bits, and two river-side winches. Water propellers have two blades and are strung onto four cables forming flexible shaft which is elevated from river bottom through distance equal to length of water propeller blade. Electric generators are mounted on river bank. End of each flexible shaft is connected to anchor by means of triangular bracket welded to armature and to bearing fixed on top of mentioned bracket at point elevated from river bottom through distance equal to water propeller blade length and coupled with flexible shaft.. Bottom cable is passed through pulley block for carrying anchor by means of two river-side winches along bottom cable to river bank and back to river bottom during ice run and in case water propellers on flexible shafts want repairs.
