FIELD: wind-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: wind-electric generating plant has auger rotor built up of hub carrying screw blades. Auger rotor is overhanging from mast-mounted top bearing support and is free to turn about it when wind changes its direction. Top bearing support is hinged to turning gear allowing rotor to change angle of inclination with change in wind speed. In addition, top bearing support is coupled with turning gear through damping device and articulated joints. Damping device enables rotor to change its angle of inclination in case of abrupt changes in wind speed. Overhanging plants are most suitable for power capacities from one to tens of kilowatts. EFFECT: reduced mass of auger rotor, simplified design of plant, improved efficiency of utilizing wind energy at its high speeds. 1 dwg
