FIELD: rolled stock production, namely intensive high-quality cooling of hot rolled strip coils. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for cooling strip coils includes fan and rack supporting vertical stacks of coils. Said rack is in the form of rectangular box inside which two vertical partitions inclined relative to its lengthwise axis are mounted. Said partitions form with upper and lower walls of said box rectangular cross section contraction joined by its large base through intermediate branch pipe with diffuser of centrifugal fan. In upper wall of box there are openings over which coil stacks are arranged. Centers of said openings are arranged along lengthwise axis of contraction. Diameters of said openings and distances between them are reduced in direction of contraction narrowing. Vertical partitions of narrow end of contraction are mutually joined by semicircular bridge whose vertical axis coincides with center of last minimum diameter opening in upper wall of box. Inner radius of said bridge is equal to radius of said openings. In upper horizontal wall of box of rack around said openings radial fins are secured. Stacks of cooled coils are placed onto said fins concentrically with said openings. Spacers in the form of round sheets with diameters equal to outer diameters of coils are arranged between said coils. Said round sheet has central opening around which at both sides of sheets there are radial fins. Said radial fins forces spacer to lower coil and support upper coil by their other side. Centering ring is mounted concentrically with said round sheet onto fins of said spacer in such a way that gap is provided between its outer end surface and surface of inner strip of lower coil. Terminal upper coil of stack is closed by cover in the form of finned plate provided on its one side. Said cover rests upon outer end of coil by means of said fins. EFFECT: enhanced quality of hot- and cold rolled strips due to uniform cooling of coiled strips and enhanced mechanical properties of strips, lowered areas for manufacturing, reduced cost of shops, enhanced efficiency of hot rolling mills due to increased rate of cooling coils of hot rolled strips. 2 c, 7 dwg
