FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises contacting dichloromethane hydrogen fluoride in the presence of fluorination catalyst containing zinc or zinc compound, and metal oxide, fluoride or oxyfluoride. Temperature is preferably 240-320 C. HF to difluoromethane molar ratio varies from 5:1 to about 25:1, zinc content per catalyst weight 0.1-30 wt %, use of catalyst makes it possible to use lower temperatures than those generally used in the hydrofluorination of dichloromethane, whereas HCPC content does not increase. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 5 cl, 3 tbl
