FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of mono steel and duplex process in converter. After completion of oxygen blowing of metal before discharge of metal into steel teeming ladle carbon-containing materials are added in amount, which provides binding of dissolved oxygen and oxygen from iron oxide, after which the metal is carried out with an inert gas purge from the top through a water-cooled lance with intensity of 200...500 m3/min and duration of 1.5...5.0 min, during a metal inert gas purging, provide the position of lance 1.5–4.0 m above the metal level.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing oxidation of metal and slag, which in turn leads to reduced consumption of deoxidizers and alloying ferroalloys, and also increases average weight of melting due to reduction of iron from iron oxides.
