FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention makes it possible to determine dose of ultraviolet radiation in wave region near 270 nm where possibility of injury of man's skin is maximum. Proposed ultraviolet radiation indicator includes substrate on which polymer layer with hydrophilic surface is deposited, light-sensitive layer containing N, N'-substituted derivative 4,4'-dipyridyl ( weight 0.5-20.0% ), water-soluble polymer ( weight 4.0- 50.0% ), polyvinyl alcohol being the balance. Substrate also carries scale of colors used to compare coloring of light-sensitive layer. Light-sensitive layer and scale of colors are covered by protective layer. Indicator can be used to test dose of UV radiation both from natural sources of light in the open air and from artificial source of light in solaria.
