FIELD: automobile and tractor engineering; liquid cooling systems of internal combustion engines furnished with devices to maintain engine warm after stopping in cold weather. SUBSTANCE: liquid cooling system of internal combustion engine has upper and lower tanks of radiator provided with aluminium alloy heat accumulating members covered from outside with thermal insulation. Protective heat insulating shields in form of flexible blinds are installed at the front and rear of radiator. Blinds are provided with heat reflecting metallized coating at sides pointed to radiator and blind opening sequence interlock. EFFECT: improved conditions of accelerated post-starting warming of engine with reduced time taken for bringing the temperature to nominal value at below zero ambient temperatures, possibility of keeping engine at stand-by conditions with increase in time intervals between engine startings for warming up. 5 cl, 2 dwg
