FIELD: molecular biology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a selective isolation of double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA and RNA. Nucleic acids are sorbed on aerosil (A-300) at required concentration of chaotropic agent by addition of aerosil to a sample up to final concentration 0.3-0.6%. Mixture is incubated for 1-2 min and aerosil together with the sorbed nucleic acid is precipitated by centrifugation and washed out with 80% isopropanol. Double-stranded DNA is sorbed in the presence of high concentration of chaotropic agents and RNA and a single-stranded DNA - at low ones.
