FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, technology of manufacturing solid wheels. SUBSTANCE: upon completion of hot plastic deformation of wheels, they are subjected to cooling below AZ1 by 70-320 C, and after holding for temperature equalizing, they are heated to temperature of austenization held at this temperature, thermally hardened and tempered. In this case, tempering operation is combined with isothermal holding operation for at least 3 h; and austenization is carried out at temperature exceeding AC3 by 40-100 C. EFFECT: reduced power consumption in process of manufacture due to reduced isothermal holding.
