FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining cephalometric indices of gnato- and craniometry in lateral projection by taking into consideration angle of mandible inclination relative to cranium base and basal angle of the jaws, as well as from the magnitude of the angle of maxilla inclination to cranium base, angle of chin line inclination to facial line axis. Ratio of maxilla rotation and maxillomandibular basal angle and difference of chin inclination angle and facial axis angle summed with mandible inclination angle relative to cranium base is calculated. The ration being greater than 1, vertical tendency in jaw growth is predicted. The ration being less than 1, horizontal tendency in jaw growth is predicted. The case of equality to one is interpreted as neutral growth tendency. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of prediction. 1 dwg
