FIELD: drawing production, namely drive units for moving carriages of continuous action drawing benches. SUBSTANCE: drive unit is in the form of two cylindrical cams mounted on the same shaft, turned one relative to another by 180 degrees and kinematically joined with carriages of drawing bench. Cams have profile corresponding to functional relation of motion value S of drawing carriage from cam rotation angle ϕ. Said relation provides constant speed of carriages in drawing direction and includes portion of stable working movement (Sw, Sw, ϕww), portion of stable reverse movement(Sr, Sr, ϕrr) and two portions of non-stable reverse movement (Snr,Snr, ϕnrnr) of carriage. In order to lower force loading of bench members sensing loads related to inertia of drawing carriages with predetermined mass and path lengths of acceleration-deceleration and to eliminate "soft shocks", cam has such profile that relation of carriage motion from cam rotation angle is given by regulated equation system.
