FIELD: plastic metal working, namely cutting moving rolled stock by measured lengths, possibly in aggregates for continuous tube electrowelding and shape bending. SUBSTANCE: flying saw includes base with guides on which runners of detachable carriage are arranged. In lower part of carriage in parallel relative to its axis toothed rack is mounted. Rack engages successively with gear wheels mounted on output shafts of reduction gears of carriage moving drives. Flying saw provides increased efficiency, enlarged manufacturing possibilities due to cutting tubes of different assortments, lowered energy consumption, shortened working cycle due to elimination of time loss for speeding up and braking electric motor of carriage drive and lowered mass of carriage that is removable one. Carriage includes mechanisms for clamping and cutting, for example in the form of disc cutters. Instead of carriage with disc cutters it is possible to use carriage with cutting mechanism in the form of sawing disc or carriage with cutting mechanism having notching cutter with step-mounted teeth and wedge-shaped shearing cutter. Frame of carriage may have circular guides providing rotation of clamping and cutting mechanism around lengthwise axis of apparatus without intermediate frame. Type of carriage is selected depending upon assortment of sawn tubes and rolled stock. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 8 dwg
