FIELD: seismology, national systems of observation and processing of geophysical data. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with method sounding of ionosphere with electromagnetic waves of SHF oscillator under mode of frequency pulling on wave length greater than Debye radius of screening in plasma is performed, section of ionosphere above controlled area is scanned by beam of radiation pattern of antenna, radio images of section of ionosphere are obtained by frequency detection of signal by self-excited oscillator of each element of scanning and frame M(x, y) is formed from them depending on signal of spatial coordinates. Parameters of signal of indicator-herald are calculated by way of Fourier transform of matrix M(x,y) in the form of energy spectrum, interval autocorrelation and time of life. EFFECT: provision for timely remote direct measurement of indicator-herald of earthquake in the form of low-frequency spatial waves in ionosphere. 4 dwg
