ROTARY DRUM POSITIONED INSIDE DRIVING RING Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: design of rotary drum-type furnaces. SUBSTANCE: rotary drum, for instance, rotary roasting furnace is positioned inside driving ring with the use of clamps arranged in axial direction that are held by driving ring and rest with their free ends against fixing members so attached to rotary drum that vertical loading of drum relative to shell of drum is transmitted tangentially on to driving ring. Clamps are distributed in pairs over circumference of driving ring and are attached to its side surfaces. Owing to this driving ring may have smooth cylindrical inner surface, without teeth which presents scope for usage of existing driving rings of floating type. All parts of rotary drum are more accessible for inspection and maintenance since no part is closed by driving ring. EFFECT: easy access to any part of drum. 9 cl, 3 dwg
