FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring luminous flow of reflected signal under maximum aperture diameter. Aperture diameter is arbitrarily reduced within given boundaries of 20-80% from the initial level. The luminous flow is measured once more to determine the value of coefficient K characterizing biological tissue density (cellular infiltration degree). R coefficient as degree of marked pathological process manifestation is calculated. R values being close to one, normal state of biological tissue is concluded to be the case. The values being 2>R>1.1, considerable increase in cellular infiltration degree on the background of moderately expressed edema is considered to be the case. R>2 being observed, prevailed tissular edema is considered to be the case. R <0.9 being observed, increased tissue density and/or increased cellular infiltration degree is concluded.
