METHOD OF TREATMENT OF HOLES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2121422 C1

FIELD: abrasive and diamond-point treatment of inner cylindrical surfaces of blanks especially those made from high-strength materials. SUBSTANCE: abrasive diamond-point head is set in rotary motion relative to longitudinal axis and reciprocating motion with honing sticks released. Honing sticks are made in form of spherical segments located symmetrically relative to longitudinal axis. Honing sticks are additionally set in rotary motion relative to their own axis perpendicular to longitudinal axis of head. Amount of longitudinal feed of head is chosen not to exceed , where n1 is rotational speed of head, r/min; R1 is radius of hole being dressed, mm; t is cutting depth, mm. EFFECT: increase of cutting speed by several times; enhanced wear resistance of tools at retained quality of article. 4 dwg, 1 App,
