METHOD OF MINING GAS-BEARING COAL SEAMS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: coal industry; used in mining of coal deposits with outburst-prone seams and seams liable to shock bumps. SUBSTANCE: method includes drilling to protecting seam of blowing and gas-withdrawal holes which are interconnected and protecting seam is burnt. In this case, prior to working of protecting seam, drilled on working seams are degassing holes into which superheated steam or hot water are injected. In so doing, point of blowing is moved along blowing holes as soon as protecting seam is burnt out. Superheated steam or hot water are prepared with utilization of heat of gasses formed in burning of protecting seam. EFFECT: increased gas withdrawal and reduced cost of the method. 2 cl, 1 dwg
