DEVICE FOR SMALL-INCISION OPERATIONS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: surgery; urology; gynecology. SUBSTANCE: device may be used for small-incision (3-5 cm) operation. Circular yoke of device carries holders with blades mounted on it for movement over circumference and in radial direction. Blades are butt-joined to holders through hinges and are bent in longitudinal and transverse directions. Hinges are made clamping. They have axles oriented in parallel to yoke surface. Clamping hinge is essentially fork with flexible walls and eye coupled by means of screw which has hole for wrench. Every blade has C-shaped part on hinge side oriented with its convexity inside yoke and coupled to part which has convexity directed to opposite side. C-shaped part has hole near hinge for its turning by means of wrench end piece. As a result, provision is made for forming the operative space in depth of tissues which has dimensions considerably larger than those of skin wound and for changing and fixing the position of this space.
