FIELD: spacecraft electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves testing of storage batteries inside satellite in course of its use using equipment parts which are functionally equivalent to their full-scale model in specific mode for connection to described autonomous power supply system, which has solar batteries, which are connected to load through voltage converter of storage batteries which are connected to solar batteries through charging voltage converters. They are connected to load through discharging voltage converters. Load comprises onboard computer and other service parts of satellite. Equipment unit of storage battery has heat-stabilization plate on which serial circuit of storage batteries, individual charging and discharging converters are mounted for connection to solar battery and load as well as to onboard computer. Number of storage batteries in unit conforms to conditions of expected power surplus of solar batteries, electric characteristics of unit and power consumption in satellite stand-by mode.
