FIELD: chemistry of proteins, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a protein - antagonist of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and can be used in biotechnology and medicine. Protein consists of two α-- and β--chains connected by disulfide bond and can bind with HGF but has no domain of cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase. α--Chain is α--chain of receptors of HGF encoded by protooncogen MET (molecular mass is 50 kDa). α--Chain is a form of β--chain of HGF receptors (molecular mass is 75 or 85 kDa) and it is truncated from C-end. Protein is produced by culturing cells expressing MET gene. For isolation from cultural fluid protein is bound with antibodies showing specificity to extracellular domain of β--chain of receptor. Invention ensures to obtain the truncated forms of HGF receptor and use their for pharmaceutical preparations preparing.
