FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: fuel assembly has fuel elements, cellular spacer grids incorporating interconnected cells with crimp- shaped bosses and rim, support grid, shank, removable head, central tube, and guide channels. Spacer grids are mounted in guide channels for limited displacement of cells along the latter as fuel elements move due to radiation growth and due to thermal expansion; movement distance is chosen proceeding from operating conditions of cell crimps in vicinity of elastic strain. Specially shaped bushings may be installed in seating places for guide channels of spacer grids. EFFECT: reduced deformation of fuel elements and reduced force required for installing them in grid. 3 cl, 7 dwg
