FIELD: production of brushes. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has press mold for producing brush casings having bristle bundles fixed into cast mass. Press mold has at least two parts movable one relative to another, and bristle bundle feeding device containing preliminarily treated bristles packed in parallel one with another. Feeding device has bristle bundle extracting and moving pipes arranged in order at least partially corresponding to that of openings. Method involves extracting bristle bundles from bristle pack by withdrawing separate bundles by means of pipes which are penetrated with their front ends into pack of bristles, while bristle ends oriented away of pipes are frictionally brought into contact with vibrating plate, which is replaced by counteracting plate. Method allows ready brushes with required bristle end profile to be produced. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and apparatus and provision for obtaining high-quality brushes. 16 cl, 11 dwg
