FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has magnetostrictor arranged in body and connected rigidly to concentrator. Ultrasound radiator is secured on end part of concentrator. End periphery of ultrasound radiator is provided with bosses. Ultrasound radiator has through axial hole for stud which connects ultrasound radiator with concentrator. Vacant end of stud carrier ultrasound radiator with concentrator. Vacant end of stud carries working tip made of thermodynamically stable material possessing higher hardness (relative to hardness of material being treated). Bosses are made of the same material. They may be manufactured of constructional steels, and special coating may be applied on them to give them required properties. Device allows treatment of parts made of steel, copper, aluminium and different alloys. Rotating and flat surfaces including internal surfaces and those provided with recesses and holes may be subjected to treatment.
