FIELD: sorbents. SUBSTANCE: method focuses on granulating thermally cleaved graphite, carbon black, and other carbon-based materials preferably having flock-like form. Method includes keeping sorbent in contact with molten paraffin until saturation of sorbent with paraffin followed by lowering temperature below crystallization level of paraffin, mechanical agitation of sorbent with binding agent, properly granulation, preheating of granules to 200-300 C, aging to complete evaporation of paraffin, and calcination. According to invention, volume ratio of thermally cleaved graphite to paraffin ranges from 1:0.5 to 1:0.2 and preheating of granules is conducted under atmosphere of inert gas, advantageously nitrogen.
