FIELD: methods of production of battery manganese of gamma modification by hydrometallurgical method. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of raw material by leaching with reusable sulfuric acid electrolyte, classification of produced pulp, purification of produced solution from impurities by their precipitation with lime milk and filtration and recovery from purified solution of battery manganese by electrolysis with subsequent regeneration of spent electrolyte and its supply for leaching. Raw material is treated in two stages: at the first stage, raw material is leached preliminary in the presence of oxidizer, while at the second, subjected to final leaching is preliminary partially leached raw material in the presence of reducer. Leaching at the first stage is effected with the solution produced after the second stage of leaching performed by regenerated electrolyte. For purification from impurities and subsequent electrolysis is used solution produced after the first stage of leaching. The preferable temperature in the process of settling the impurities with lime milk is 90-95 C. EFFECT: higher quality of final product. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
