FIELD: transport engineering; ignition systems. SUBSTANCE: fuel-air mixture is injected into engine chamber at each cycle of its operation and voltage pulse is supplied to spark plug which provides emission of electrons from spark plug cathode. Emitting electrons form uninterrupted beam of required size, shape and direction. Beam ionizes mixture and reduces its resistance. Under action of energy evolved by electric pulse volumetric ignition of fuel-air mixture takes place. Low tension is supplied to spark plug. EFFECT: reduced ignition voltage, increased completeness of combustion of fuel-air mixture. 2 cl, 1 dwg
