FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle electrical equipment. SUBSTANCE: spark plug has body 1 with emitting converter 2 in form of piezoelectric electron source. Spark plug has also current supply member 3 which serves simultaneously as current conducting member of converter 2. Emitting converter 2 has means for forming electric pulse in form of emitting cathode 4 combined with central electrode of spark plug. When low tension is applied to current supply member 3, flow of electrons 5 escapes from emitting cathode 4 of converter. This flow is uninterrupted beam maintained during one cycle of engine operation. Energy emitted by beam ignites fuel- air mixture in combustion chamber.
