FIELD: manufacture of tools and/or wear-resistant coatings. SUBSTANCE: powder of metallic cobalt as binding agent for manufacture of tools and/or wear-resistant coatings based on diamond and/or hard alloy includes metallic cobalt powder produced by spraying which contains optically detectable particles sizing 5-150 mcm and additionally powder of metallic cobalt (in case of necessity) in agglomerated state with optically detectable particles sizing less than 3 mcm with weight ratio of 20:80 to 80:20. One more subject matter of the invention is cermet article in which the metallic cobalt powder serves as a single or additional binding agent. Powder has low content of impurities.
