FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to branches of science and technology where certification of quality of materials is conducted such as aviation, atomic power engineering, chemical and construction industries. Optical images of surface of examined object spaced apart in time are generated and parameters of changes in images are compared with calibrated parameters. Optical and TV images are obtained from noncoherent light source which are filtered and magnified by value determined by required resolving power, change of topology of surface with correction of angular mismatch of images is found and operational life is predicted. Device for implementation of method includes light source, TV camera, interface, monitor, microcomputer, display, illumination control unit, light filter, image magnification unit, buffer storage, switch, first and second control units, discrete movements and turns unit and additional interface.
