SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes oscillation motion drive of disc lap 3 having eccentric sleeve 5 connected with electric motor 8 and wave friction transmission 10 for imparting slow speed rotation to lap 3. Mechanism for setting microtome blade 1 includes axle 11 of sharpening angle, axle 12 of setting angle and axle 13 of arc raising. Said axles provide possibility for automatically change pressure acting upon blade at each stroke of lap 3 according to its motion direction relative to cutting edge at setting angle 60-80 degrees. EFFECT: improved design allowing to eliminate fin at sharpening, to enhance quality and sharpness of cutting edge of microtome blade. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
