FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes substances and synthesis thereof for preparing polymeric cationic materials having superabsorption properties with respect to water and physiological solutions. More particularly, present invention describes cationic cellulose derivatives having supersorption properties which are prepared from cellulose substrates by reacting them with excessive amount of quaternary ammonium compound in alkaline medium at elevated temperature from higher than 75 C to 120 C. The claimed process uses molar ratios of components. Cationic polysaccharides have substitution degree from 0.5 to 1.1. The present invention also describes disposable absorbing products comprising component from supersorption fibrous cationic polysaccharide.
