WIRE ROPE LEAD SEAL (DESIGN VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; locking devices of freight car doors, containers, vans tank hatch covers. SUBSTANCE: wire rope lead seal has body with axial hole accommodating wire rope engaging with spring-loaded stop members arranged in body. Wire rope has stop with check washer at one side. Wire rope is fitted in axial hole of die provided with inner ring groove for stop check washer and with recess in upper part on bottom of which two through holes are made without intersecting the axial hole. Wire rope is fitted in die to form loops, first of which encloses the eyes of locking unit and is arranged between axial hole and one of through holes, and the other is fitted in die recess between through holes of die. Sharpened cone can be placed in die recess between through holes. In other design version die is made in form of stamped out and bent part of u-shaped form. Axial hole is made in center of bridge, and two coaxial holes not intersecting the axial hole are made in die legs. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of lead seal. 3 cl, 7 dwg
