FIELD: technique of spraying of liquids or powders in gas medium, preferably, in air; may be used in spraying of considerable amount of substance for a short period of time, in particular, in fire extinguishing. SUBSTANCE: essence of the method consists in spraying of liquid or powder into gas medium under the impact effect of gas flow with high kinetic energy. Source of flow is used in the form of powder and/or pyrotechnical charge. The method is embodied in the device having barrel for throwing charge of sprayed substance with outlet opening on one end and inlet opening for gas flow on the other end; chamber for combustion of powder and/or pyrotechnical charge and means for initiation of charge burning. Combustion chamber is connected with barrel so that its inlet opening coincides with outlet opening of combustion chamber. To make easy the replacement and metering of powder charge, a standard powder cartridge may be installed in combustion chamber.
